Inside Eminem's Near-Death Moment

Eminem gets shockingly candid about his addiction to Vicodin in the 2013 documentary titled How To Make Money Selling Drugs. The rapper reveals in even more detail the night he nearly died, and how he still continued to do drugs.
"Had I had gotten to the hospital about two hours later, I would have died," Eminem reveals. "My organs were shutting down. ...They didn't think I was gonna make it."

This near-death experience however wasn't enough of a wake-up call for Slim Shady to stop using. "My bottom was going to be death, and within a month I had relapsed and shot right back up to the same amount of drugs I was taking."
"I'm not out there shooting heroin. I'm not putting coke up my nose. I'm not smoking crack," Eminem says of how he justified his addiction. "You're struggling with the argument of 'Do you have a problem, or do you not have a problem? Can you control or can you not? And I literally thought I could control it."

Explaining how he fell into drugs, he said he was just taking what people were giving him. "They look like a pill, and they're shaped like something you would take, so you take. Xanax, Valium ...all in the same family. F*** it, take it."
Getting sober for Eminem was excruciating. "Coming off of everything, I literally was up for three weeks straight," he says. "I had to regain motor skills. I had to regain talking skills."
He adds, "So I would say to anybody that it does get better. You know, it just does."
